When Skylar's mom passes away, she and her brother find a stack of unread letters in a keepsake trunk from the 1960's, addressed to a musician named Marco Del Rio.

 

As the letters take them on a journey of their mother's secret past, they discover that while America was on the edge of a social revolution, Kate Wyse was fighting a personal coming-of-age battle: the choice between the conservative life her own mother expected of her, and the authentic, adventurous life she wanted to discover for herself.

Set between the Midwest and Seaview, a fictional town on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Free Love Beach is the story of a young woman figuring out how to make her own way in the world. Learning to trust where she goes, what she does, and most importantly, whom she loves.

 

With the help of her new friends and a few quirky beach characters, Kate will have to face the timeless lesson that sometimes following your heart means defying your own family, and maybe love is something destined, rather than designed.
