Welcome!

Author
I’m so glad you stopped by! I was a poet and an editor in a past life, who decided a few years ago to try my hand at fiction. Turns out, it’s a blast.
Recently I’ve been writing stories about independent women who always have adventures and sometimes fall in love. I like to call them love stories, but others might call them women’s fiction or romance. I think Elin Hilderbrand coined the term, Beach Books, and I love it. I do like happy endings.
I’m an indie author with a degree in English, who does other fun stuff in the world for money—I teach classes and wait tables and tend bar; I love the ocean and I’m a sucker for good karaoke. I also just started swimming again.
These books in the Cocktails, Sunsets, and Music series are my tribute to all the things I love about the world: music and poetry and artists and characters. I’ve been having a lot of fun writing these characters.
I live in the Midwest and try and get close to the water whenever I can. I shut down a bunch of my social media last year because I wasn’t super excited about AI and privacy. Social media also zaps my writing time and creativity. When I am online and feeling chatty, I’m hanging out at bluesky, and I just started a blog/email-newsletter on Substack, which is like Facebook but for readers and writers.
If I’m not writing or working (or painting or singing), I like to read. My love affair with fiction began with Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God and Jack Kerouac’s On the Road. A few years ago I got into Nicholas Sparks, then Nora Roberts and Elin Hilderbrand, but OMG, you all, I just discovered Carley Fortune. She’s topping the summer reading charts right now for a reason.
If you stopped in because you read one of my books and you love it, would you take a minute to give it a review or tell a friend? if you didn’t love it, thanks for giving it a chance, and maybe you could donate it to your local women’s shelter, or the nearest free library, so it can take a chance on someone else.
If you’re brand new here, join my postal mailing list or email list below to keep in touch, hear about new releases, and every once in a while hear about what I’m reading.
I am working on Book#3 and Book#4 (hopefully coming in 2026!) and I think I know where Book #5 will take place. Stay tuned for details.
Best wishes, safe travels, and sweet dreams!
